4/4 Saxon Klingenthal violin (c.1850)

This antique 4/4 size violin was made in the Klingenthal region of Saxony (Germany) c.1850. It is solidly made with plenty of character. The original neck has been skillfully replaced at some point with a modern neck, retaining the original grafted scroll. This violin has a deep and mature tone with dark and sultry expressive qualities. It has been fitted with Pirastro Tonica strings. Ideally suited to an advanced level player.
