4/4 Wilhelm Duerer violin (1911)
- Wipe down the violin with a soft dry microfibre cloth after each use to minimise rosin build-up on the varnish.
- Keep the violin in a protective hard case when not in use, to avoid accidental damage.
- Avoid subjecting the violin to sudden or excessive changes in temperature/humidity, to prevent cracks forming or the glue dissolving.
- If tuning the violin via the pegs, check that the bridge remains at a 90 degree angle and has not been pulled towards the fingerboard. Very carefully tilt it back to the original angle if required.
- Contact us to have the violin serviced if you notice any of the following: pegs difficult to turn, fraying or sticky/grainy strings, unusual changes in sound, excess rosin/dust build up (either on or inside the instrument). It is recommended to have the violin serviced annually to avoid any long term issues.
